Peruvian mobile telephony operator Claro is set to launch fixed TD-LTE services in rural and remote parts of the country in the second half of the year, reports Telecompaper.com on July 3, 2015. The executive said the technology will be used to complement the operator's fixed coverage in areas where geographical remoteness and municipal obstacles have so far prevented the installation of telecoms infrastructure. Claro Peru, fully owned by America Movil, has been offering LTE services throughout Peru since last May.
