Movistar Mexico (Telefonica) has announced the launch of 4G services in the border city of Reynosa in the northern Tamaulipas state, reports Telecompaper.com on July 15, 2015. The operator said the 4G network will cover the center of the city, as well as metropolitan areas, the Northern Industrial Estate and Reynosa International Airport. It aims to extend coverage to the entire city by 2016.
Movistar first launched 4G services in Mexico City last September and is offering a range of plans with unlimited calls and SMS, data of 0.5 to 3.0 GB per month and Spotify Premium access. The company said it expects to offer LTE services in 300 cities across Mexico by the end of 2015.
