Mr. Takehiro Nakamura, the Chief Standardization Officer of NTT DOCOMO, shared views on 5G evolution and activities to promote mmW deployment. He pointed out that mm wave is not so used well both in Japan and other countries, which mainly due to its limited mmw coverage, limited mmw devices and limited mmw use cases. However, these three aspects are not independent but closely related and making negative cycle. Therefore, we need to change this negative cycle to positive cycle by mmw coverage extension, spread of mmw devices and increase in mmw use cases simultaneously.
