Mr. Liu Yulin, Deputy Director General of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stressed in his opening notes that the Chinese government has been attaching great importance to 5G and fully promoting its development. First, notable achievements were made both in network quantity and quality. A total of 2.312 million 5G base stations were built and putoperation, covering all urban areas of prefecture-level cities and counties around China. Over 1.48 million 5G base stations were completed through initiatives of co-building and co-sharing, which played a major role in construction of intensive efficiency and green low-carbon 5G networks. Second, further progress was made in 5G integrated applications. Multiple measures have been taken simultaneously to promote 5G application innovation. Currently, 5G application use cases in China have reached over 50,000, covering a range of fields such as industry, energy, transportation and medical care. Third, industrial cooperation was further promoted. It encourages enterprises of both at home and abroad to participate in China's 5G technology researches, and conduct joint research and trials to promote industry maturity.


To accelerate deeper cooperation among global mobile information industries, Mr. Liu put forward three proposals. First, promote 5G development through technology innovation. Accelerate the evolution and upgrading of 5G-Advanced technology, promote the research and application of 5G products, and optimize the industrial chain of 5G on a global scale; Second, unlock 5G values through integrated applications. Enable wider and extensive use of 5G applications in production and daily life; Third, achieve win-win 5G future through open cooperation. Enhance exchanges and cooperations in 5G technology, spectrum, standards, applications, security, to promote a broader global consensus on 6GHz mid-band. Finally, he highlighted that GTI is an international platform for effective and open cooperation and represents an important link that connects to all parties in the industry. He believes that GTI will keep playing its big role in promoting diversified and open international cooperation in the future.
