Mr. Dong Xin, CEO of China Mobile, remarked that being part of GTI and the global mobile industry, China Mobile has been conforming to the trend of information and energy being integrated, positioned itself as a world-class information services and sci-tech innovation enterprise, and accelerated digital transformation to achieve high-quality development.

First, expand business scope from communication service to information service. It has built a new information infrastructure comprised of 5G, computing force network, and middle platform of ability, with over 1.28 million 5G base stations, server capacity reaching to 7.8EFLOPS, and high-value data collection exceeding 600PB. It also built the new information services system of "Connectivity + Computing Force + Ability", through which there are 13 products’ subscribers reached over 100 million, and 5G commercial use cases exceeded 18,000. Second, shift business focus from mobile market to markets of consumer, household, government enterprises and new areas. Total connections rose to 2.8 billion, revenue structure was further optimized, revenues in household, government enterprise and new areas accounted for nearly 40%, and revenue in digital transformation accounted for more than 25%. Third, transform development from resource-driven model to innovation-driven model. Investment in research was further increased with leading contribution to 5G international standards among global operators.

In addition, Mr. Dong highlighted that China Mobile will work with all parties to promote the high-quality development of global mobile information industry through its strategy of "Four Globalization". First, promote globalization of technology innovation to accelerate digital intelligence. It will move faster to upgrade its innovation system from "Four-level Cooperation" to "Five-level Cooperation" through inclusion of international cooperation, to be more open in collaboration and joint research. Second, promote globalization of standard solutions to enable connectivity. It will focus on 5G-A, 6G, computing force network and adopt an all-round, in-depth, and multiple-channel approach in international standard exchanges, to formulate unified global standards and innovative solutions. Third, promote globalization of digital applications to empower production and living. It will speed up implementation of scaled applications in a wide array of industries such as smart factories, smart mining and smart grid, fully promote unique services of 5G New Calling, 5G message, Cloud XR, health care for elderly people, online education, and smart communities, and enable digital government and smart cities to benefit all people. Fourth, promote globalization of industrial ecosystem to co-share development dividends. It will move forward with building up collaborative innovation base of “Co-building and Co-sharing for Global Service”, focus on areas of connectivity, computing force and ability, to enable cross-industry, large-scale and intensive global cooperation.
