The 41st GTI Workshop (Namely GTI Spectrum and Technology Workshop) was held in Nanning, Guangxi on November 24-26. It was attended by over 100 senior representatives and industry experts from international organizations, industry partners, universities, research institutions and beyond. Mr. Gao Tongqing, Chairman of GTI and EVP of China Mobile, attended the workshop and delivered a speech on November 25.

In his speech, Mr. Gao Tongqing stated that since its establishment 13 years ago, GTI has been committed to building a high-level international platform for exchange and cooperation, successfully promoting the global development of 4G and 5G. As an key founding member of GTI, China Mobile has consistently strengthened the foundation of 5G development, built high-quality 5G networks, and achieved widespread 5G service coverage. The company has also pushed forward the "AI+" action plan, independently developed the Jiutian AI large model, and implemented over 10,000 AI+ projects. Moreover, China Mobile has deepened international industry cooperation by initiating the 5G-A×AI Integrated Development Project, and worked with global partners to establish a new model of international collaboration.

Mr. Gao further emphasized that the digital transformation is progressing rapidly, with Southeast Asia showing significant potential for digital economic development and 5G adoption. To this end, he proposed Four Initiatives: First, collaborate on efficient utilization of spectrum resource; Second, co-build new digital intelligence infrastructure; Third, promote the creation of value through digital intelligence services; Fourth, foster a thriving digital intelligence cooperation ecosystem.

The workshop has attained great focus on three main topics. In terms of spectrum and technology, regulatory agencies, GSMA and industry partners shared global spectrum allocation progress and strategies for 6G spectrum planning. For 5G-A×AI Development Program, academic, industry, and research partners discussed innovative progress in new business models such as 5G New Calling, XR immersive experiences, low-altitude economies, and Open Gateway. In the area of 5G-A empowering industry innovation, a variety of partners shared case studies and experiences in industries such as steel and manufacturing. They explored the demand for digital transformation in these sectors and demonstrated how emerging technologies like passive IoT, integrated sensing, and AI network models are applied in 5G+ smart manufacturing, 5G+ industrial quality inspection, and 5G+ smart warehousing scenarios.

This workshop not only kept abreast of the cutting-edge technologies, but also fully showcased the latest achievements and future development trends in 5G/5G-A, further promoting the development of global digital intelligence. GTI will continue to promote global technology and industry cooperation, advance the deep integration of CT, IT and AI, as well as jointly foster the development of digital intelligence with global partners.
